What were you grateful for this week?
My host family.

What was the most challenging part of this week?
Taking the wrong train.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I got up early with my host son while my host parents prepared their B&B for new guests.

Tell us about your week!
The beginning of this week I was a little sad and anxious, not being in the states for the 4th of July. However, my cute host family decided to have a BBQ on the 4th to help me feel more at home. We had hamburgers, ribs, guacamole (that I made), and so many other things from home. I also introduced them to grilled pineapple and they loved it!

This weekend, I had the opportunity to travel to Nice, France. The train ride was a long one, but it was well worth it. Nice was absolutely beautiful. The scenery and the architecture was breathtaking. But the best part was meeting up with my cousin who is based there for the military. He was able to show me all the local spots.

The best part of the weekend though was being able to go to a World Cup Match. It has always been on my bucket list to be able to attend a World Cup game, no matter what stage of the tournament it was. I was able to get tickets for the 3rd place game which was great to see. I was able to watch England vs. Sweden and it was an intense match. I still wish that I was able to see USA play, but this was a good second.

I’m so happy that I’ve been able to have these experiences here in Italy. I only have a few weeks left, but I am excited to see what comes with those weeks!!
