What were you grateful for this week?
One day without rain!

What was the most challenging part of this week?
Getting the kids to interact with me.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I tried entertaining the kids, not during working time, while my host mom made dinner.

Tell us about your week!
I have officially finished my first week of being in Italy! I also successfully went on a great weekend trip! My first was a bit challenging since the children are younger and don’t speak any English. I am slowly getting them to warm up to me though! I have high hopes for next week. The weather here in Lignano is a bit cold and rainy, but I was able to ride along the beach on the first sunny day to see what I have to look forward to during the summer months! I am learning to be a lover of big dogs, my host family has three!

For my first weekend trip I met my friend who is staying in Milan in Vienna! I took a long journey via bus through the night, which I definitely don’t suggest, and spend two full days with her in Austria! It was so fun being with my best friend wondering around the city! We went to many museums and walked everywhere, plus figured out the metro! During my last few hours in the city alone, I went to THE best art museum. If you are a lover of art, I highly suggest. It was called Künstforum Wien. At one point during the trip, R and I had the movie moment where I got off the metro and the doors closed behind me. When I turned around to her yelling my name, she became a blur as she was rushed off to the next stop. Thank you Vienna for the good times!
