What were you grateful for this week?
Rome!

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
Feeling overwhelmed by family drama.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
My host sister hasn’t really celebrated Halloween before so she is STOKED to celebrate this American holiday. I have been her personal Barbie doll the passed few weeks while she’s been practicing on my hair (she’s not soft at all) and makeup and outfits for me to be “IT the killer clown”. I have to admit I haven’t loved every second of being a doll to her but I’m glad that it’s almost Halloween and she’s been having fun playing with it!

Tell us about your week!
This week was good! The weekdays were normal. Walking my host sister to and from after school activities and helping her with homework, helping the family clean the house, all that jazz! Then this weekend, the family had to go to Rome for the dad’s speech he had to give at a conference. So they invited me to go to Rome with them! It was totally free of charge, I only had to bring extra money for souvenirs and they paid for my train ticket, hotel room, activities, and food! So nice! I was so thankful!

Rome was absolutely stunning and honestly it wasn’t a city that was real high on my list until I was standing in the heart of it. It was gorgeous and the history and architecture was breathtaking. The food was also top-notch and so that was fabulous! We figured it out on our iPhone activity apps that we had walked a total of 30 miles in 2 days! It was nuts but so fun.

The last day, we went to see the Colosseum (walked of course) and we got completely dumped on by the storm. It was insane but still so worth it and made for a good story. We are all super worn out but so happy we went! I’m thankful the family brought me with them to see such an incredible city!
