What were you grateful for this week?
My host family is always really good about including me in future plans and will even ask what I want to do on our future vacations.

What was the most challenging part of this week?
There was one day this week where the little girl was in a bad mood all day and it was very difficult to get her to talk to me.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I have been spending a little extra time with the girl this week because in a week she is going to be starting school and we won’t have nearly as much time to spend together.

Tell us about your week!
It’s been almost three weeks and this place is still really confusing. I am still just trying to get the families routine down. Unfortunately there has been a new schedule every week so just as I’m barely starting to get it down but changes. My host mom and dad had to work a lot last week so it was mostly the little girl her grandma and I. At nights we normally read together or play games but since her parents were gone her grandmother took us to the park for her workout. It’s where her and a bunch of other people dance walk to music and move their arms in unison. And the little girl would follow behind her grandma and do the steps with her. It was very entertaining to watch. We went and did that a couple of nights. Last week I started my mandarin classes. They are very challenging but I am hoping I will start to get the hang of the language soon.

During the weekend my little girl and some of her friends all went to a show together. It taught them all about instruments and some English. All of the kids in the audience had instruments they could play along with so the show was very loud. But the kids all looked like they were having fun. Next weekend we are going on a mini vacation before the girl starts school and I am really looking forward to it.
