What were you grateful for this week?
This week, I was SO incredibly grateful to see and be in the mountains again. Wow I missed them I love where I live in Utah!! It’s my last time writing what I’m grateful for so I’ll say as much as I can! I’m grateful for God and for Jesus, for my amazing supportive wonderful loving family, especially my parents, for my friends at home, for my host family, for friends made traveling through Rome Abroad and not, for a bed to sleep in, for food in my belly, for GELATO shoutout pelicano beach, for the beach, for the ocean, for the mountains, for this wonderful experience. I don’t know how else I would be able to travel like I did this month. I’m grateful for so much more but that’s my brain dump for now.

What was the most challenging part of this week?
The most challenging part of this week was one day I just got pretty discouraged dealing with the kids being hard and I just really miss my family!

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
A wow moment was my host mom took her exam this week and had to really buckle down and study so I helped a little extra so she had time to do that!

Tell us about your week!
My last week! It has FLOWN! I have a feeling these next two days are going to go by really slow haha. On Monday, I hung out with my host mom’s niece who is so darling and we have become such great friends. We biked and walked around Rimini near the Ferris wheel! Our nightly excursions this week were a lovely break from hangin with the kids all day! It has been a joy and a blessing to have her to help me! The ocean at twilight in Rimini is stunning! We got gelato multiple times of course and I definitely have to go AT LEAST one more time before I leave. The kids were a little on edge this week but I understand because they didn’t get as much time with their mom because she had to study for and take her exam! My host mom’s niece and I also biked the Arco di Augusto area and found this funny old DJ and people (mostly older haha) dancing and we joined in! So fun!! He was only playing 90s rap and r&b. So awesome.

This weekend I think I visited my favorite place yet. Cortina D’ampezzo. Wow. It was perfect. Amazing. Tears were shed. I was smiling and awestruck the whole time. I LOVED IT! If you ever have the chance to go, GO!!!!!! There was a thunderstorm when I got there and I was a little worried but determined to take these gondola lifts to this amazing view. Sometimes, you just gotta think something will happen hard enough that it will! The rain stopped and I was able to take the gondola to the most INCREDIBLE view of Cortina high in the Dolomites. There weren’t many people and it was such a special experience for me. The best of all my time in Italy I think! That night I just explored Cortina and stayed at my cute little hotel.
Sunday, I went to Venice! It was raining when I got there so I bought an umbrella in a little Chinese store, the first I could find and started on my way to St. Mark’s square and the basilica! So pretty! Venice you don’t even have to do anything, just walk around and everywhere is beautiful and picture perfect with bridges and the water I loved it!! I ate dinner right by Ponte Rialto and then went home to Rimini!

Today, my host mom, her niece, our little boy, and I went to Santarcangelo. The cutest little town and we just walked around for a few hours. It was beautiful and quaint and quiet! And that’s my week! Tomorrow I think we are going to San Marino, and then Wednesday is my last day!!! And then it’s Arrivederci Italy!!!
