What were you grateful for this week? Being with a wonderful family that does wonderful things for me.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
Having difficulties back home that was distracting and difficult.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
The family went on vacation and I stayed to take care of the dogs for a chunk of the week. While away I tried to make sure the dogs were well taken care of and walked at least twice a day with plenty of play time and even let them up on the couch with me once! I also went and got them toys to chew on since they were going through some bad separation anxiety.

Tell us about your week!
This week was a slower week for me since the family was off on vacation for a couple of days. For those days I got to take care of the dogs, find ways to fill my time that were not video games, and spend a full week day in the city.

I walked throughout the streets at sunrise and got to go to Gianicolo hill, the highest vantage point in Rome. I did a little shopping and learned how expensive some places in Rome are, Gap is considerably more expensive but that might be a blessing in disguise, I need to spend my money on things that [are] experiences instead!

I walked through more sites at sunset including Piazza di Spagna and Piazza di Popolo, sites I had been to before but do not get old. I spent the days reflecting and thinking about myself, life, and the idea of historical permanence. My mind really swung for the fences when the boys weren’t around, ha. I got dinner at a small restaurant and just enjoyed a little break myself. I was excited to see the boys when they got back, the silence was getting a little deafening.

The new year started off wonky but it is picking up steam and on its way. 2018 here we come.
