What were you grateful for this week?
This week I am grateful for my host family. They have been so great with helping me adjust and helping me with complications with technology! They are so great!
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
Jet lag!! I honestly thought it was a myth, but it is real and the worst. It shouldn’t take my body too much longer to adjust to it.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I haven’t been here for too long, but I have been trying my best to help with dishes, cooking, and helping with anything else they need me to do!
Tell us about your week!
I just got here on Saturday, so not too much to report yet! When I arrived, me and my host mom immediately got my transportation card so I can get around easily! That night, I slept for 18 HOURS. I was so tired!
Sunday, we waited for the rest of the family to arrive from holiday. It was nice to have some alone time with my host mom just to talk and to get the feel of things! Today, I experienced the city a little bit and my duties for the week. Nothing too difficult which has been nice! Everyone has been very nice and helpful and things just keep getting easier. Public transportation I definitely get the hang of a little bit more, but I can ask my host family anything and they will help me no matter what!
[My host family’s son] is a sweet kid and he’s also very independent already. He shows me where to go and knows his way around the city pretty well. He also explained to me how euros work! He’s so smart and helpful and I think we will really enjoy our time together. [My host mom and dad] do their best to make me feel at home and I’m so lucky to have them. Italy is beautiful! I had my first cup of gelato today and it was SO GOOD. Definitely more to come!!
