What were you grateful for this week?
Modern medicine and my host family for taking care of me!

What was the most challenging part of this week?
Managing the trains! Lots of them have been delayed or canceled but it is teaching me to go with the flow.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I have been making up games for the kids and my family sent me more games so we don’t get bored!

Tell us about your week!
After coming back from Milan, it was hard to get back into the groove of things with my host family. It was the start of my second full week!

I was not feeling the greatest so my host mom was able to arrange me meeting with a doctor to get what I needed and they all took such great care of me! The language barrier is still there but as we have been able to both pick up on words and phrases, communication has been easier!

My family mailed me a package and it finally arrived this week! It contained things I forgot and more games for the kids! The little “Bop It” was such a hit! They have played it nonstop. Playing uno has gotten old so I mixed it up and created a hybrid game called Slap Wild, like Slap Jack with wild cards.

This week has been crazy hot, hotter than back in Arizona plus the humidity makes it worse. Florence was crazy beautiful but we has to go out in sections of time so we didn’t get dehydrated. The gelato breaks were frequent! Ponte Vecchio was prettier than I ever imagined. My favorite part was hiking up a steep, steep incline to Piazza Michaelangelo where we saw to sunset over the whole city. Then we caught a train to Pisa and ate at this wonderfully authentic restaurant where we sat outside because it finally cooled off! I had a great sleep because there was finally AC in our Airbnb!

The next morning we made our way to the Leaning tower, snapped a few pictures, then had a very strenuous journey home. All of my trains were late or cancelled but I finally made it home!
