What were you grateful for this week?
The new puppy!

What was the most challenging part of this week?
Night time with the puppy.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I’ve been helping with the kennel training at night.

Tell us about your week!
This week was super! I’ve been learning so much here and so much about myself. It’s also funny how I’m starting to use some slang with my friends and host family.

This Friday I went to a jail tour. The jail was called Boggo Road since where it was positioned back in the day when it would rain, the road to the jail would flood and become quite boggy so they nicknamed the jail Boggo road jail. I went with my friend Shakira and it was so fun. The jail was kept about 99% original. What was interesting and cool was the old graffiti from like the 70’s and 80’s (won’t share any pics due to content). We learned about a man who escaped the jail named Slim Holiday. We had some time to go into the cells and there was one that I stepped into and I got chills and felt almost a tightness of the air around me and I told our tour guide that and she said that’s the cell she won’t go into. She said quite a few people get that same feeling going in there. So I took a photo of the cell and when I did the light in the cell went out. Spooky, I know. After the jail tour we went to the Gold Coast for a little bit but it was too windy. Then Saturday I went out with my two friends and we went for some food and did some shopping, then we all decided to ride those pay scooters up the river and it was so fun. My host family got a dog, he is a beagle and cavalier mix and his name is Baxter. He is super cute and very mellow. He’s only 11 weeks old and is just the cutest thing. It does make me miss my doggies at home. But this week was one for the books for sure!
