What were you grateful for this week?
Family!!!

What was the most challenging part of this week?
The anxiousness waiting for my family to get here!

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
This week I helped prepare a meal. We invited the neighbors over and had a giant feast — it was so good wow!!

Tell us about your week!
This last week was hard only because I knew that my family was coming at the end of the week so the time just dragged on and on I was so excited for them to come visit Italy. Through the week I did what I normally do…spent it walking on the beach and listening to music or the waves in the ocean! The weather here has gotten so nice that people are showing up at the beach finally and more and more tourist are coming to enjoy the sunshine!!

On Friday, I went to meet my actual family in Rome!! They flew here (Mom, Dad, Sister and one of my little brothers). It was so much fun to spend the weekend with them! We spent 3 days in Rome and took a day tour to see everything we needed to see while in Rome! (Trevi fountain, Vatican Museum, Colosseum, and so much more!) It was so fun to show my family around and to be with them and watch their faces as they tried their first gelato in Italy!! So so good!! This week I am excited for them to come to my city in Italy where I have been living.

This was the longest I have ever been away from them and it was much harder than I expected it to be. But this experience has made me grow so much as a person. Living here has taught me how to be independent and how to actually be good at traveling.
You have to budget your money, food, hotels, trains and everything else. But being in Italy for this long has taught me so much, even more so about myself and who I am or am becoming. I cannot believe it is all coming to an end very soon!
