What were you grateful for this week?
Every morning when I got up and left my room I got to see the boys and they said good morning and were excited to see me each time. Always makes me smile.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week? 
Being woken up when the boys were screaming about a video game haha. 

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
This whole week around the holidays I have tried to make special in a way that the family hasn’t experienced before. Ranging from spending time thinking of presents to get them to just trying to let them sleep in and relax are my way of making their holidays more special. 

Tell us about your week! 
Well it is a holiday filled week with Christmas and then a week later New Years but the majority of my week was not celebrating, it was talking with the boys, thinking about life abroad, and the whirlwind of after-holiday activities.

 

Since the boys have some more time during the day we finally started reading a book together. James and the Giant Peach has been started! While we are progressing slowly in order to make sure they understand the words, it is a hit so far! I get to do silly voices and use large hand gestures so I am having a blast. 

 

While reading is exciting, the most excitement was about New Years Eve. I got to try more Italian traditions like lentils and octopus on NYE, I saw a very strange spectacle/concert that I only half understood since it was in Italian. As if the universe was keyed in that I was having a good time I got a bad migraine. HA. What a way to ring in the new year, with a ringing in my head! 

 

The stark realization that my trip is more than half over is very apparent now that it is January. While I have thoroughly enjoyed my time, I really do think that there is so much to be done. More now then ever I need to make sure I am getting out and seeing the city and making memories while I can!
