Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I was able to step up and help my host parents watch the kids so they can go out and do things with their friends because the boys needed to be watched.
Tell us about your week!
This week was a pretty good week! Sunday my American friends left to go travel other places and to go back to America which was really sad because it’s hard to realize you’re the only American again for a while but time is going by so fast here it’s going to be over before I know it!
This week was fun did the usual with the kids hung out at home and played games. We also swam in the pool everyday this week which is always fun to do!
This week I took the kids to the zoo which was a lot of fun! French zoos are not like American zoos! It was very different but it was cool to go experience. It was a lot smaller than what you see in the United States and you see different animals that you wouldn’t think belong in a zoo but are there. The funniest things I saw at the zoo this week that made me laugh because they are there were goats — nothing special just your average goats — and guinea pigs. It was so funny seeing those two animals at the zoo.
This week on my day off I finally did some traveling and I went to Spain!!! I’m sad because when you cross the border you don’t get your passport stamped but…it was still so fun! Spain is absolutely gorgeous! My host mom and kids and I went to San Sebastián which is an hour away from Hossegor! It was so much fun. We went and saw the beautiful beach and we walked around the town which was so neat to see all the architecture. We had lunch in San Sebastián we had tapas they were so yummy! San Sebastián was a perfect little get away for a couple hours! It was a gorgeous city I would’ve loved to spend more time there but after a couple hours the kids were ready to go home!
This weekend on Saturday I got up and went to the market and did some shopping in downtown Hossegor to buy some souvenirs because I only have one week left in France before going home!
Sunday my host family and I went to the lake and we went fishing and had a picnic it was a perfect relaxing evening!
