What were you grateful for this week?I was grateful for a delicious dinner with my host family and the chance to get to know them more.
What was the most challenging part of this week? The most challenging part of the week (which wasn’t even that challenging) was making dinner a couple of nights because I was with the kids!
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. A “wow” moment was when I last-minute made dinner for the kids because the parents were going to be home later than expected.
Tell us about your week! I can’t believe I’ve been in Rome almost a whole month! Last week I got to spend more time than normal with my kids and host family because it was a busy week. It’s always nice to learn more about them, and to feel comfortable with the kids that we can hangout on a Friday night and have fun! I had a great week in Rome, seeing more of the city, meeting up with the other girls at a cafe in a bookshop, and having gelato a couple of times (it’s still fairly warm here). Then over the weekend I did two long day trips, so needless to say I was very happy to return to Rome on Sunday night and go to sleep!
On Saturday I went to Napoli with two other Rome Abroad Travelers here, and we had a great day eating pizza and exploring the crazy, chaotic city! We visited a monastery and did a little shopping. On Sunday I went to Pisa by myself and had a great time. I was able to see the leaning tower, then spent the day doing whatever I wanted. I had hot chocolate sitting outside at a cafe, visited a museum, shopped, and had the most amazing panini for lunch. Plus the train ride to and from was super comfortable with beautiful views of the sea close to Pisa. It was a great weekend, but I was so happy to return to Rome and can’t wait for the week ahead here.
