M’s Crazy Week

What were you grateful for this week?
My mom.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
My lack of sleep.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
Doing well with the kids while both parents were gone for the week.

Tell us about your week!
So this week was surprisingly rewarding and also unbelievably exhausting. [My host mom] was away for work in France again and [my host dad] went to Greece to play golf (jealousy levels were high), so it was myself, L (the other woman that works with me/my best friend), and [my host dad’s], Nonna L that basically braved the week and kept everything under control. And the kids were actually AMAZING. So compliant, so obedient, so happy and fun.

Other than the fact that I was so tired I was borderline delusional, I felt really satisfied and really proud of myself. I’ve mentioned issues with sleeping before, and I haven’t been struggling for a while, but OF COURSE, this past week they came back full force. So I wasn’t sleeping and then having really full on days. Which was hard, but thankfully the kids were on some happy high that made my life much easier.

Everything is happening so fast! It’s almost half way through June, which means the traveling is going to get crazy in about a week. We move to the mountain house next week for about 3 weeks, then go to France again for 10 or 11 days, I honestly don’t know which. Then when we return, we have ONE DAY IN MILAN TO GET OUR LIVES TOGETHER, and we move to Lipari until the beginning of September. So, goodbye Milan. I will catch you on the flipside. I will be tan, potentially a bit plumper, and definitely wiser the next time I see you.

PS. I have such an intense love and appreciation for the little demons that I live with. They cause me so much confusion and bring me so much happiness it’s amazing that I didn’t know them before, and that I will have to leave them in the end.
