What were you grateful for this week?
I am grateful for my weekend trip to Florence and meeting more girls who were aupairs or backpackers!

What was the most challenging part of this week?

My good friend in the program had to go back to America, but then I made new friends and things are looking up again!!

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
My host mom was busy organizing the move from Rome to fregene beach so rather than 6 hours I worked all day, which was no problem because I love the kids!

Tell us about your week!
This past week I really bonded with my host family. The older girl M who is 11 is such a great kid. We get along really well and she is making we wish I had a younger sister! We are into all of the same girly things like spa nights (nail polish and face masks) and we both listen to Ariana Grande nonstop. The 3 year old V adores me and she couldn’t be cuter. I’m very grateful the girls like me because in the past they had an au pair and she wasn’t great, so I’m very thankful I can give them a better experience.

My weekend trip to Florence was everything I could ask for and more! I’ve been really looking forward to going to see Tuscany and all of the renaissance history. I made a few friends while I was there who are now coming to Rome this weekend to visit me! I honestly had never been so speechless in my life as I was when I saw the duomo in Florence.

This past Friday my host family moved us to Fregene beach outside of Rome. It’s a bit off the grid but I’m excited to get an authentic experience. Everybody in the area are Italian people on summer holiday. And the gelato is very good here which doesn’t hurt!!
