What were you grateful for this week?
It was my best friends birthday!! So I was thankful for FaceTime.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
The heat! And let me tell ya, it’s only spring so it’s only going to get hotter. Living in Utah I’m used to DRY heat but it’s sooo humid here so it’s been hard to adjust.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
It was Halloween! I was able to get the girls ready and pumped to go trick-or-treating, but it’s so different than back home. There will be 3 houses on one street that actually celebrate it. But we had a really good time and ended up getting more lollis than expected.

Tell us about your week!
My week was filled with lots of swimming because of the heat, and quality time spent with my host family. I can’t believe how insanely hot it gets here. I love the warm weather, but this humidity is on a whole other level. The nice part about living in a more tropical climate is the fruit! I’ve been eating mangos like crazy, they’re so much juicier and sweeter than back in the states.

That’s one of the things I’ll miss the most when I leave honestly, and the muesli I’ll probably have to shop a box or twelve back home. This wildlife is thriving since the heat has been brought upon us, I’ve only been centimeters from running into spiders hanging from trees a handful of times this past week.

I had a wonderful weekend with my sister and ended it at Lonepine Koala Sanctuary on Sunday with my host family. It was my first time seeing koalas, kangaroo, Tasmanian devil, and even platypuses!! Koalas weigh a lot more than you’d think, I though I was going to drop the poor thing until it grabbed onto my shoulders and rested! They eat an endless amount of eucalyptus leave when they aren’t hanging lifeless in a tree. It was seriously so much fun, and I’m thankful that my host family got to charge that experience with me!
