What were you grateful for this week?
I am grateful for the bond I feel with my host family! they have welcomed me with open arms and I feel so comfortable here. it’s nice to feel close to them and enjoy our time together.
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
navigating through the city and traveling! getting used to the metro and train systems and finding our own way through gallarate and then through rome while we were visiting was tough!
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I went out of my way to make sure I was spending time with the younger twin boys as well. even though they are not my responsibility I want to have a bond with them and be helpful so I made sure to play with them whenever I could!
Tell us about your week!
ROME. H and I stayed at [my host mom’s]
home in Rome for the weekend and they took us around the city and showed us a good time. We missed out first train on the trip there (oops) and realized the traveling was a bit harder than we expected, but we soon got the hang of it and figured it out.
The train ride was so fun and beautiful sites along the way. And we were able to navigate through the city and find our way on our own! There is SO much to see and do in Rome it was so amazing! Everything was so beautiful, we were in awe everywhere we looked! Every little street was so full of character, there was so much going on!
We saw the Colosseum, the Vatican, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain! We were able to fit in so much but there is still so much of Rome I want to explore!
H and I got dinner at this awesome resturant and had the BEST pasta and bread. SO yummy. and the gelato was to DIE FOR. We got gelato 4 times in the 2 days we were there, too amazing to pass up!!!! I loved loved loved Rome, we had the ultimate Italian experience there and loved the energy and atmosphere. Such a fun place to visit!
