What were you grateful for this week?Buses and Trains!
What was the most challenging part of this week?Missing my bus multiple times and not getting upset.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I took [my host family’s son] to school one morning since my host dad wasn’t feeling well, I was glad I could help.
Tell us about your week! This week was really fun! My host kid started his first week of fifth grade. Since it was the first week the school days were cut in half, so he finshed at 12:30. I would pick him from school and we would get lunch together which I really enjoyed. He is so sweet when we walk into the restaurant the first things he tells the server is that I speak english and I am vegetarian. We spent the rest of our afternoon walking around looking in shops. I am impressed with his social skills and street smarts.
On Saturday morning I got ready to leave for Cannes, France. The metro I was on caught on fire and had technical difficulties so we had to evacuate 1 stop away from the bus I was supposed to get on. My friend was on the correct bus so I told her I would meet her there. I booked a train ticket from Milan Central at 11:00. I was upset at first because my time is Cannes would be cut short, but the I shifted perspectives and remembered how lucky I was that I was even able to go. Once I finally made it to Cannes I was so happy. It is so beautiful and has such a mellow vibe. The Airbnb we rented was so cute and had the best view. I am happy I got to have one more beach trip before fall arrives!
