What were you grateful for this week?
Seeing old friends!

What was the most challenging part of this week?
Feeling fully comfortable around my host family.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I cuddled with the boys a couple nights this week until it was time for them to go to bed.

Tell us about your week!
This week was draining. I spent the mornings at school and then afternoons at home. I feel like I haven’t been making the most of my time out here. Honestly I have felt kind of lazy. I want to go to more museums during my hours off in the afternoon and see more things.

This week [my host family’s son] and I had a serious talk about being a good sport or a sore loser. I explained what these are and the differences between them. Usually when we play soccer and I start to win he gets very upset. I told him that we are playing soccer because it’s fun and we love it. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose, nothing bad happens. I found out that the next morning he was playing soccer with Lorena (cook) and when she started to win he said “it’s ok, you’re 7 points and I’m 5 points”. That made me so happy because it made me realize that I really am impacting these kids!

This weekend the family headed to the mountain house. I stayed in Milan because a friend of mine was visiting from London. I have not seen this girl since we studied together in NYC summer 2017. I was a little nervous to see her again, but it was so refreshing to see a familiar face and feel comfortable around someone again. We grabbed dinner in Navagli and got groceries for her Airbnb on Saturday night. On Sunday we went to Museo del NoveCento. She is staying here for another week so I’m excited to spend more time with her!
