What were you grateful for this week?
I was grateful for the opportunity to learn on my own this week!

What was the most challenging part of this week?
Everything was so all over the place with schedules because of holidays and everything.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I made sure that I was always home and available to help with [my host family’s son], even if it wasn’t during my scheduled hours.

Tell us about your week!
This week was a good one! It definitely seemed a bit longer than normal, but it was good. The schedules were off with school and basketball and work and everything with the family because it was a holiday in the schools, and that was good, but it made things interesting for me as I tried to adapt to their new again. I have basically learned that every week here is different! We have a “schedule” but that changes daily, so it’s always kind of a surprise as to what’s going to happen! 🙂 I was still able to get out a little bit and explore some of Rome, so that was lots of fun, and then I went out of town for the weekend with my host family!

[My host family’s son] has a basketball tournament on Monday and so we left a little early with some of their friends to visit Ancona. It has been really nice because Ancona is out in the mountains and on the coast and is a small little town (or at least it feels that way), so it was a nice change of pace from the busy city life of Rome. We went with some of their closest friends, and honestly, they have become like family to me too! I love it! It is so beautiful and so much fun to experience a new part of the country in the lifestyle of Italians!
