What were you grateful for this week?
Beautiful weather!

What was the most challenging part of this week?
I got sick over the weekend and that was so hard to be away from home :/

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
We went to Leolandia today so fun!

Tell us about your week!
This week was a rollercoaster! I had high highs and super low lows. But it’s all part of the experience right?! I spent a lot, like a lot of quality time with my host family, as it was my last week with them! Wednesday we had crazy thunderstorms and rain and it was fun! Nice change from being sunny every day.

We had a surprise Wednesday night! The package my mom sent arrived here, and we had such a blast opening. It felt like Christmas. [My host family’s son] kept saying (in Italian) we got presents from Santa! It was so cute. My mom sent a cactus pillow and a cactus ornament, and tons of American candy. We had fun trying it and seeing what they liked and didn’t like. It was such a good night.

Friday I woke up with a cold. I was so sad too because I made it this whole time without being sick and my last day with [my host family’s son] and I’m not feeling well. [My host mom] was nice and let me sleep in the afternoon, but I still took [my host family’s son] to get a gelato and we watched a movie together. That night we went out with [my host dad’s] brother and his wife to dinner and it was a fun night! Glad I got to meet them, they are very nice people.

Saturday was terrible I just stayed in bed all day sick. Sunday I felt so much better and we went to lago maggiore in Arona and we had lunch and just spent a couple hours by the lake. It was so nice.

And today we went to Leolandia and that was so fun! Fun to ride some mini rollercoasters and do something different. It’s a fun little amusement park. We had a good day!

I’ve loved my cute Italian host family. They are some of the best people I have ever known, I’m so honored to have been able to share two months of their lives with them. They will forever be special to me and I am so grateful to know them!
