This week consisted of meeting lists of new people. After my return from Turin, we ate with the neighbors who knew English! Then [my host family’s son] had his birthday! Lots of friends came over for gelato cake. I had my last dinner at Nonna’s where she made a classic lasagna and I even tried liver! Never trying it again though.

And finally I made a classic American dinner for my host family. I made grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, and toast on the stove as they don’t have a toaster! They could not stop eating the mashed potatoes! Then of course I had to get Oreos for dessert.
I did my last shopping trip in Alba! I am going to miss Italian stores and their great sales! I explored my hometown and finally made the trek to Villa la Zizzola, the landmark of Bra, and saw some beautiful views! The walk was straight up.
I started packing up and I have no idea how I got everything here in one carry on. I had to cave and buy another suitcase.
On Sunday we headed to Lake Osiglia for my host parents’ triathlon! It was fun to cheer them on in the beautiful weather. But I got so fried! I was definitely the whitest person there.
Monday was my last day with my host family! I finally got everything situated and my host mom drove me to the train station! Saying goodbye was so emotional! On the drive there I was reminiscing of my first drive to the house where I was so nervous and way out of my comfort zone and now I am so sad to leave! I am meeting P and then Switzerland here we come!
