What were you grateful for this week?
Kind people who help confused Americans at the train station.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
Traveling on a train with no seat for 2+ hours.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
Made the kids a delicious treat of American style Nutella pancakes and introduced them to bacon and scrambled eggs! Haha so good. The kids loved it.

Tell us about your week!
This week was normal. The kids went to school while I found some new running routes around the town that I now love!! Running from small Italian streets to lush green trees is so cool.

After school activities now consist of lots of hide and seek or tag. They love it and have showed me the “Italian” way of playing, which is really just me constantly being the one counting or tagging. Haha I get my exercise in though????

This weekend we went to Venice and let me tell ya. It lives up to the hype 110%. Stepping out of the train station is insane. It’s everything you would expect and more. We found our hostel and left our stuff there to go out and explore.

I think it’s safe to say we found THE best risotto place in all of Venice. The nicest, most sarcastically funny guy owned it and single handedly ran it all. He sat with his wine glass and drank as he watched us devour his amazing dish. He was so kind and I wish to go back just for his restaurant.

We also got a boat to Burano, which is an island full of the most colorful houses in all of Italy. To say it was breath taking would be an understatement.

Sunday we had all day to explore and so we took advantage. From small alleys with dead ends to cute bridges to going from pastry shop, to gelato, to pastry, back to gelato….it was a dream. This place is a dream.
