What were you grateful for this week?
Being safe while traveling alone!

What was the most challenging part of this week?
Hardest part of this week was walking so much!!!! And the heat!!!

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I was gone the entire week so I didn’t have one of these experiences!

Tell us about your week!
This week was great! [My host family’s son] was in basketball camp the whole week, so I had the whole week off to travel! My host family recommended Bologna. So Monday I got prepped and planned everything out for my week off. I left Tuesday and headed to Bologna. I got in in the evening, walked around a bit and then went to bed.

Wednesday I walked the city, climbed one of the twin towers and had this beautiful view of Bologna. It was super hot though! I got gelato of course and ate lunch at a nice place. Did some shopping and then got some tortellini for dinner. Thursday I headed out from Bologna to Florence. On my walk to my Airbnb, I was in awe of Florence. One of my favorite places so far. So beautiful. Friday I talked with some friends on FaceTime, and then went out. It was so hot. I wanted to become familiar with Florence so I just walked around! So beautiful.

Saturday, A4 met up with me in Florence. We walked through some markets, ate fast food pasta for lunch, haha. We went to to Accademia, saw the statue of David. We took some pictures on the bridge, with the Pont Vecchio in the background. We went to the Piazzale Michelangelo, and had the most incredible views of the city and the sunset. We walked back near the piazza Della Signora, and watched a live band of violinists, while we ate gelato. It was dreamy.

Sunday we went to church and met some nice people. Went to the duomo museum and then waited in line for the cathedral. It was incredible. I loved it, one of my favorite cathedrals I’ve been in. We then headed out to Pisa! Our bnb host recommended this local pizzeria for dinner and it was super tasty. We watched Mamma Mia, and then went to bed! We woke up and packed up, headed to the leaning tower, walked around and took some pictures!

And then I almost missed my train because we got on the wrong bus taking us the wrong direction lol. But I made it. And then I got home and ate dinner with my amazing host family!
