What were you grateful for this week?
I am grateful for my host family and their openness to let me into their lives this week! It was very busy but they treated me like their own and gave me amazing new experiences.

What was the most challenging part of this week?
Just adjusting to the time being somewhere new and my own personal issues was a challenge that I feel like I have overcome so much.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I do the dishes every night I just feel like it is the least I can do for the family and I got their whole family matching pjs from my work and they loved them!!!

Tell us about your week!
I was able to be a part of my host family’s son’s first communion which was a whole new experience for me! All of the family was in town so I got to interact with everyone which was really cool to see and be a part of! Some of the cousins even spoke English so I got to hangout with them and have them help me / educate me with Italian!

My family also took me around Milan to show me Duomo, get my first gelato and pizza! I really enjoy having my day free to explore and I know I haven’t even seen half of Milan so I am excited to keep wandering around! There is so much to do and I keep myself busy, I have to keep pinching myself that this is real life! My family takes very good care of me and I can’t wait for the adventures ahead! I have eaten so much new food I never want to go back to my dull diet back home! And I’ve probably spent way too much money on clothes already… but I could window shop all day!

The little boy I am hosting for has helped me immensely with directions and I enjoy all the time I get to spend with the family! It was very intimidating being with the whole family because most of them spoke Italian but I had a lot of help and translators to help me and I always felt included!
