Thursday night my host family and I left to visit my host moms parents in Arles. IT WAS SO HOT!! 104 degrees, I thought my skin was going to melt off. It was great to see other parts of France. Arles is a city that was built by the Romans, and it held a lot of history and culture. There was a festival in Arles, they showed different outfits from the 17th – 20th century. It was great seeing the different looks and how fabrics and fashion is influenced in today’s culture. But for most of the weekend, we spent most of our days inside. Since it was so hot and over 100!
I also met my host mom’s sister, her husband and their two daughters. The cutest and sweetest girls! My host mom’s parents were also kind enough to prepare vegan dishes throughout the weekend!
Wednesday night was [my host family’s son’s] birthday party. We had a neighborhood party and he loved the cars I got him. He sleeps with them every night! The neighbors were so kind and made a special vegan dish and cake for me! The neighborhood is so welcoming and I’m so happy to be living in this area.
That Wednesday night I went to a local festival in Biarritz and went dancing with my local friends. This week was very hectic but so much fun!
