What were you grateful for this week?
This week I was grateful for meeting the other travelers!

What was the most challenging part of this week?
Figuring out the train system!

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
It was great welcoming them back from their trip to NYC! Can’t wait to spend more time with the kids again.

Tell us about your week!
This week was so fun!! I met up with three other girls and we went to Venice for two days! It was windy and cold but being able to joke around and laugh with them was the best. Traveling with other people really brings you together fast!

It was also incredible going to St. Mark’s Basilica for the first time. It was a beautiful building full of so much history it was hard to not just buy a chair and sit in the square to stare at it for hours. This church is super famous in art history canon and has so many paintings featuring it, and really kicked off an entire theme of miracles in Venetian art so that was super cool.

We also went to the Gallerie dell’Accademia which was currently housing a lot of Leonardo da Vinci’s sketches and inventions, and incredibly, the Vitruvian man. I had also studied some of the paintings there in school and seeing them in person was absolutely shocking and inspiring. They were so much bigger than I originally thought and that just added to the splendor of it all.

Overall, my week had some ups and downs but it is amazing being able to live here and experience a different culture and be so close to so many other amazing historical sights.
