What were you grateful for this week?
Mountainous cities.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
Public transportation…..yikes.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I went out of my way to talk to one of the kids about everything he likes hoping that we might be able to get along a little better!

Tell us about your week!
This week I had the opportunity at a longer weekend because my host family had a vacation planned. My friends and I visited Switzerland and we were in awe. We planned to stay in Geneva for about four days, but everyone told us there wasn’t much to do. We were able to (eventually…) find our way to a train that took us all the way to Interlaken. Switzerland is full of fields, trees and cows. I was able to see plains of autumn colors as we crossed the country and it completely took my breath away. I’d never seen a more beautiful, colorful fall!

Everyone we met in Switzerland was outrageously nice, it was almost unbelievable. Our Airbnb host was incredible, I went paragliding and my pilot was so friendly, our waiter went out of his way to make us laugh and make sure we had a good experience. I would absolutely go back to Switzerland in a heartbeat and throughout the entire weekend my friends and I found ourselves saying, “Yep. I could live here.”

Now that I’m two months in, I feel more comfortable with my host family and I really love these kids. I’m looking forward to heading home to spend the holidays with my own family, but I’m going to be heartbroken leaving this one!
