What were you grateful for this week?
The forgiveness of people.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
Leaving my host sister.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I watched [my host mom] while her parents went on a date.

Tell us about your week!
This week was different. It was my last week in Milan. It was a little bittersweet to be honest. I went through my weekly schedule as normal and everything went as good as it usual does. I’ve grown to really look forward to the time I spend with [my host family’s daughter]. I also decided to explore Milan deeper than I have before. I bought tickets to explore inside the famous Duomo. It was so freaking stunning inside I couldn’t believe it. I also went to a couple museums with the most amazing art and a very old cemetery in Milan. Milan doesn’t have too much to see compared to other cities but it sure has some unique places to see.

My last day with my host family was on Saturday so my friend M and I decided to head to her family’s mountain house. It’s so magical up here and has healed part of my soul in many ways. I’m grateful I was able to come here.

I know I need to head home because it’s what’s best for me but I have grown to really like [my host family’s daughter]. I think we’ve bonded so much even though I’ve only been here for two months. She’s very easy to take care of and is just such a sweet girl. I honestly think of her as more of a little friend I have rather than it’s my job to take care of her. We have so much fun together. I truly am going to miss her. She has brought such a light to my life.
