What were you grateful for this week?
New friends and sunny weather.

What was the most challenging part of this week?
My ear is still healing which is great, but sometimes frustrating. I can’t hear out of it which makes the language barrier that much harder.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I helped prepare for and clean up a party we hosted.

Tell us about your week!
This week was a little slower since I’ve been taking time to heal, but I don’t mind at all! Time to brag about my host mom for a second. She took me to see a doctor this week because she was worried about me when the bleeding didn’t stop. She went with me and translated everything. She has been so wonderful about taking care of me and mothering me. I am so, so grateful.

I met up with some of the other Travelers that just got here which was so fun! I’m so glad that there are other girls living so close to me. I love making new friends here. I was a little skeptical of how it would be when I signed up for the program by myself, but it has been so fun meeting the others!

The kids were very busy this week since it was the last week of school. I went to a dance recital, a choir concert, and an end of year celebration. We had a big party at the house for one of the kids because he is moving from middle school to high school. There was a ton of food and dancing. Italians definitely know how to party! It was a lot of fun to spend time with the family and experience a night like that. I stayed in Rome this weekend, and it was everything I needed.
