Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
A wow moment I had this was doing homework with [my host family’s son]! We were able to think of some exciting new ways for him to learn new words, so it was awesome!
Tell us about your week!
This week was pretty low-key, but still awesome! On Monday my American friend A and I went to this beautiful park called Gongqing Park! It was so beautiful! wish I would have taken more pictures, but it is okay because we plan to go back this week and explore the park more! The park looks like a forest, with crazy tall trees rich in bright green leaves. It has wide pathways where visitors can either walk, run, or tandem bike through the gorgeous scenery. It also has several rides, such as a small roller coaster, a log ride, and even swings! You can also pay to ride a horse around the park, and do several other activities. Despite all the amusing activities you can do here, the park was surprisingly quiet, and not crowded at all! Soooo dreamy! Next time we go back, we want to bring a picnic and go with a bigger group.
On Friday, China celebrates a holiday called The Dragon Boat Festival! The kids had the day off school, so we spent some time as a family and went out to eat at a very lovely Chinese restaurant! I tried frog for the first time, and let me tell ya, it was surprisingly delicious! Tasted like chicken, haha!
