What were you grateful for this week?
Phones! Even though I can’t be with my family and friends it’s nice to still be able to connect with them from the other side of the world.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
Missing one of my best friend’s wedding preparations and Bachelorette party!

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
My 16 year old’s teacher invited me to come to their English class on the second to last day of class to do a presentation about myself and America. I had to spend a lot of time finding pictures which is hard when you are not at home haha! Thankfully my mom emailed me tons of pics to use! We also spent a lot of time making cookies using an American recipe for the class. Even though the preparation was kind of stressful it was a lot of fun!

Tell us about your week!
This past week was pretty low key. The kids finished up school and their church was having a big event during the evenings throughout the whole week so we were always out and about. We are starting to eat outside more because of the good weather which I like.

I also had a Twilight Saga marathon with my 13 year old which was awesome because part of one of the films takes place in Italy. I would have died to have gone to that city, but I just won’t have time. I ended up staying in my city this weekend.

One of my favorite parts about this weekend was learning about the house I live in! I have the amazing opportunity of living in a medieval chateau here in my city. One of the cousins who speaks English really well gave me a tour of the house and told me the details about which families owned the house hundreds of years ago, when certain sections of the chateau were built, how it was used during WWII, etc. I’m a history nerd so I was dying! I don’t have much time left here in Italy so I’m trying to see and do as much as I can! Time just keeps going by too fast! Looking forward to Verona and Venice next weekend!
