Tell us about your week!
I do not think I have ever swam at the beach or pool so much in my life! This week was filled with more swim, sun, and, sand in Santa Domenica. After getting my feet wet last week (literally), I am becoming more acquainted with my surroundings. I now have a favorite cafe to get coffee and gelato, as well as an evening routine that consists of music and a show by the pool. I could not have imagined such a lovelier place that I would the opportunity to be.

I am enjoying my time with my host family as well. The children and I have been playing card games. I have taught them how to play some classic games such as ‘Go Fish’, ‘Old Maid’, ‘I Declare War’ and ‘Speed’. We have lots of fun and a great spirit of competition. I also am trying to teach them how to shuffle, as my basic Las Vegas technique amuses them.

As much as they learn a few things from me, I am learning a lot more from them. They help me navigate my way around Santa Domenica and help me improve my Italian. For that I am extremely grateful. This is a great once in a lifetime opportunity and everyday proves to be more fulfilling than the last.
