What were you grateful for this week?
The ocean!

What was the most challenging part of this week?
Having enough energy when playing with the kids while battling jet lag.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
While we were in Miami I made it a priority to do homework with G everyday before we did something fun.

Tell us about your week!
I spent that last week in Miami! It was my first time there, and wow I already want to go back. I was so grateful that my host family invited me on this trip. I never thought I would be so happy to be back in America. When I left the US almost 3 months ago my mentality was “I don’t like America” “Trump is president I’ve gotta get out of here”. I had all these negative thoughts about America.

Now coming back to America….I LOVE THE USA!!! I was so thankful to be able to read all the signs and feel comfortable to talk in English again. I’m so glad I got to have this experience because it really opened my eyes to how great America is and how much I have to be grateful for.

Miami was so fun with the boys. I loved playing in the pool with them, it made me really excited to go to their Sicily house with a pool. Since I use to teach swim lessons I feel so comfortable playing with kids in the pool and have so many fun games. G and I went to the beach almost everyday and picked up plastic. It made me so happy to see G really wanting to take care of the planet and do his part even though he is only 5. I feel so special when I see the boys show interest in things I like (the environment) and want to get involved. G was so proud to pick up all the plastic he would always show the lifeguard when we would finish.
