What were you grateful for this week?
laughter.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
Being at the mountain house for 5 days with no parents.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I stayed at the Mountain House with the kids and the cousins without ANY parents and didn’t lose my mind.

Tell us about your week!
So, I got back to Milan yesterday afternoon, after having been in the mountains for 10 days. This is not the first time that I’ve done this; but this time it was just a little bit different. THIS time, the parents didn’t have the time off of work. Only the kids did. So they thought that it would be a good idea to spend Easter there (which was great, but I ate so much food that I think I’m still coming back from it), and then leave us there while they came back to Milan for the week to work. I’m making this sound worse than it was (although it was insanely challenging).

It was myself, Lorena (the other nanny/cook), both grandmothers (which was actually 80% of the challenge), and for three days, Oksana (the other woman that works for my family). So it was a strong team of people and we did it. Not too many tears were shed, but arriving back in Milan was a bit of a relief. But everything is about to get pretty crazy.

The next six months will be fairly non stop. We will go somewhere at the end of this month, the beginning and end of May, then the mountain for basically all of June/beginning of July, then somewhere immediately after that, and then to Lipari immediately after that until the beginning of September.

I’m excited because traveling is EVERYTHING to me, but I’m also a bit nervous. It will be a lot, all very fast, and I’m terrified that it’ll be over before I’ve even had the chance to blink.

Something I am REALLY grateful for though: I would have been leaving in only a month from now if I wasn’t lucky enough to receive my permission of stay. I would have been absolutely devastated if I only had a month left.
