What were you grateful for this week? *
Warm coats and gloves!

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
The hardest part this week was my self-inflicted sleep deprivation.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I asked my host mom if I could help her cook my favorite pasta sauce with her so that I can learn how it’s made and take it home to my family.

Tell us about your week!
It’s crazy how fast the weeks are going by for me now that I know what to expect from each day and it’s all laid out for me. It’s a bittersweet feeling because I miss home, but I love this opportunity. Each day it gets a little bit easier to be in someone else’s home and another country.

I went to Germany this weekend with S2 and B, we met up with a friend from back home who is studying at Mannheim University. We got into the “spooky szn” by going to really cool bars in Berlin and we also went to see the new Halloween movie which was pretty awesome walking around the city in the dark after, our eyes peeled for Michael Myers. Before the movie and credits start, they play advertisements on the screen for ice cream and then an employee walks in with a cooler yelling, “ice!” trying to sell you what they just presented hahah.

Germany is a different world, but I really enjoyed the short amount of time we spent there. I really hope to go back someday to see more of the country. We were able to stop and see the Brandenburg Gate, the Berlin Wall and sat in a McDonald’s (for warmth) across the street from Checkpoint Charlie.
