What were you grateful for this week?
My host family <3
What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
Trying to fit everything in my suitcases and keep it under 50 lbs…but I did it, thanks to K’s packing skills, so YAY!
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
[My host family’s daughter] and I spent a few hours baking cupcakes on Thursday and it was SO fun!! We made it all from scratch and they tasted amazing!
Tell us about your week!
My last week! I can’t believe it’s already here! It went by so incredibly fast. My heart is bursting and breaking all at the same time because I can’t wait to see my family in Utah and eat at Cafe Rio, haha, but I’m going to miss Italy and my host family SO, SO much. I’ve made so many good memories with them, and they’re like family now. Especially the kids. [My host family’s daughter and son] are my favorite buddies and it makes me so sad when I think about leaving them! But I’m so thankful for the time I’ve had with them.
This week, K and I celebrated Thanksgiving by getting the best pizza in Trastevere, and giving pieces of pizza out to the homeless people around Rome. (And we might have had a couple pieces ourselves 🙂 )
We went all around Trastevere, to Santa Maria, across Ponte Sisto, and around the Pantheon. It was so fun and we really felt the spirit of Thanksgiving, if that’s a thing 🙂
We definitely made the most of our last week in Rome, and made almost daily trips to Osteria da Otello and Giolitti to get pasta and gelato. It’s bordering on obsession but I have zero regrets.
Actually, I take that back. I regret that I can’t eat Italian food every day for the rest of my life. I already miss my Roman home and it will always hold a special place in my heart. Ciao Roma!
