I am down to 5 weeks, and my favorite month of the year is HERE. I love October. I have always loved October. I love the in between seasons; autumn and spring. But autumn is my favorite. And although it’s been a really long time since I’ve experienced a PROPER, TRUE autumn, I still get the same feeling in my soul every time October arrives. And don’t even get me started on how much I love Halloween. The past two weeks have been fairly calm, just tennis lessons and swim lessons and school and homework (HALP) and colds and preparing for [my host family’s son’s] birthday (seriously send help).
But I made a few new friends and saw some old ones as well. M, L, and I went for dinner and that was really nice. I love finding people that speak a similar if not the same language of my soul. I admire powerful women so much. I also met with a boy that I know through T, and met several of his ITALIAN SPEAKING friends, which was amazing. They’re so unique and diverse and unapologetic about who they are, that I really like getting to know them. And I have actually picked up on this language?? My French teacher in junior high convinced me that the section of my brain that learns different languages was literally non functioning. BUT HE WAS WRONG. I WIN.
