What were you grateful for this week?
So grateful for the kindness I received from my host family. They are so open and so kind. I couldn’t ask for a better family to work with.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
Most challenging part was getting around without the dependency of technology.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I try and volunteer as much as my time to helping out. These past two days have consisted of settling in. I look forward to opportunities of being able to help out more. 

Tell us about your week! 
Upon arrival I was more occupied with getting here successfully. This has been the longest length of travel I’ve experienced but it’s been worth it. 3 planes, 5 airports, 3 trains, and a very interesting taxi ride later I finally made it safely! I was treated so kindly by my host family and was able to have dinner and afterwards settle in. 

These past two days of exploring have allowed to get a glimpse of such a vast culture. I love witnessing the art of this generation alongside of art centuries old.
The presence of plants growing through brick has been of most interest to me. I love the view of nature and man made architecture coexisting so beautifully. 

At first I was very uncomfortable with speaking English to store tenders. I felt as if I was burdening by not speaking their native tongue. It’s been very humbling being foreign in someone else’s country. It’s inspired me to learn other languages to be able to assist and help more people. Despite the difference in language there are still many ways we are connected just as a human race. I am beyond grateful for these past couple days and look forward to the next few months with a positive and open attitude. 

The kids I am caring after are so sweet and I am happy to get to know them and help them out as much as I can.
