What were you grateful for this week?
I was grateful to have more time with [my host family’s son] this week!

What was the most challenging part of this week?
Trying to figure out the best use of the weekend time that I had. ????

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
It was my host mom’s birthday this week, so I made these little paper flowers and wrote her a note and left in on the table for her to find at breakfast.

Tell us about your week!
This past week brings me to my halfway point! And I still can’t decide if I feel as though I’ve lived here forever or if time has gone so fast that I still feel as though I just got here! But it was another good week! We have finally got our schedules figured out and things are running smoothly in the home on that level, and we have a lot of fun when we’re all home together!

It was also really fun to get out and be in the city this week, and I got to spend some of that time alone as well as with friends, so that was really nice! And I also got to take a weekend day trip to the cutest town ever! I went to Assisi and it was amazing! I just loved everything about it, from the charm of the old city to the size of it, as it is just this tiny town set up on the hill, and it is so beautiful! It also served as a beautiful break from the busy city life of Rome. There weren’t very many people there in the town, as it is definitely not tourist season in that part of Italy, so it was just very relaxed and casual and you felt like you could breathe there – literally though, the air was so clean and beautiful! I got back to Rome and came up out of the metro station and there it was again, that constant lingering of cigarette smoke and car exhaust that makes up the air in a big city. ???? But I love living in Rome! It was just a nice weekend adventure outside of the city! All in all, another great week!
