This week I got on a train with the girl in my town, T! We went into Florence! Everything went so so smoothly which I was grateful for. We walked so much between the two days to make sure we got all the sights in!
I also got to meet a lot of the other girls that are in the program — they all are amazing and super nice and welcoming! While we were just wandering the city we walked to the top of a hill and stumbled on an art show type thing that was set in an old mansion it looked over all of Florence it was absolutely stunning! It was nice to be able to figure out how the hostels and the trains worked with someone helping me out so I can do them on my own at a later time.
The kids and I are in our second week of being together we are all starting to have a lot of trust and getting into a routine. They ask to play with me a lot more and even their friends at the beach are trying to communicate with me. The grandparents don’t speak English so when we need to communicate we both talk on google translate so that it makes it easy around the house. I’m feeling much less homesick and becoming good friends with everyone.
