I learned how to use a subway in China by myself. ???? I was coming home from Church and and tried to take a taxi, but it didn’t work both times. I was too scared to take a bus because there were a lot of transfers and my phone has no internet without WiFi. So I took the subway and had to switch 3 times and then walk home. It’s such a good way to live, but so hard if you are an American without internet to translate and everything is in Chinese.
The food is so much less processed here. In America I cannot process most food, but here I feel very good. I got to go on a run! I’m here in one of the biggest cities in the world and people are so peaceful and quiet. Life is a definite hard change, but I think I’m over the worst of it?? My host family is very sweet. The grandma runs the house. She gets the kids ready in the morning, makes meals, makes the beds cleans. It is so different. Chinese do not care a lot about privacy. And they care a lot about fashion. Living abroad is hard folks. A lot harder than you might expect. I went into this as an airhead. Trial by fire and I made it out alive. I am so grateful I get to experience living in China!
