What were you grateful for this week?
France finally feeling like home.

What was the most challenging part of this week?
Saying goodbye to my American friends that are headed back to America.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I was able to step in and watch the kids when my host mom needed me too even though it was past my hours of work that day.

Tell us about your week!
Wow! This week has flown by!! I am grateful to be here in France this week. Funny thing about living somewhere you don’t usually live is it takes a minute to get used to it. Finally this week in France has started to feel like home which is a really great thing! But it is also pretty sad because just when you get comfortable in what you’re doing… everything changes or is going to change soon.

After 5 weeks of being in France and 4 official weeks of working in France France is starting to feel like home. I am 100% comfortable with the kids and the city I live in. I can plan whole days for the kids without help but can keep them busy and having fun without help. I finally am confident and can drive around my city and close cities without my GPS telling me how to get around. Which has been really nice I can get around and know where I’m going 100% of the time and don’t have to rely on my kids or host parents or GPS to get me around.

This week has been kind of a cold and rainy week in France we had many days of hanging out at the house more than going out and doing things. The boys were so cute and funny because even if it was raining they still went outside and swam in the pool every day. I introduced quesadillas to the kids this week and well to say the least they were a hit! We have had them almost everyday since I made them for the kids the very first time. If that’s what they want of course I’ll make it but I’m surprised they aren’t getting tired of them yet!

This week was a special week because it was the Féte de Bayonne which is the largest festival and party in all of France!! It was so much fun to go and celebrate with friends and have a great time! It is a giant party you go and dance and eat food and just enjoy yourself! They also have a running with the bulls which was really fun to watch! I went 3 out of the 5 days and it was a blast!

As I said earlier I hate when you get comfortable doing something because I feel once you get comfortable doing things, things change! That is how it has been for me I was finally getting comfortable and have a really great time and I had to my American friends that I had made here as their time to go home has come and I still have two more weeks! I’m grateful for them and the time I had to spend with them here they definitely helped with this entire experience making it more enjoyable! It has been a great week excited to see what comes in my last 2!
