What were you grateful for this week?
Seeing fireflies and going to Florence.
What was the most challenging part of this week?
Definitely the heat. It has been decently cool all May long, but now it is getting really hot and it is hard to want to go out and do stuff because of the heat.
Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
We moved to the beach so I helped a little with bringing in luggage.
Tell us about your week!
This week was good! Really good and decently sad. It was my last week in Rome, so I had to say goodbye to this city that I love. I also had to say goodbye to some friends that I made while in Rome, which was sad. But on the plus side, I still have a couple of days left with my current family AND I saw fireflies! I was pretty excited about the fireflies. I spent every night last week at the park where they are. It honestly was one of my favorite things ever.
I also went to Florence this weekend, which was a lot of fun. I was able to see a lot of pieces of art from my art history class in person and I amazingly remembered a lot about them. We weren’t able to climb the dome but we did climb the bell tower next to it, which was probably better because you got to see the dome in our view.
My family moved to the beach over the weekend as well, which is why I am not in Rome. I am really glad that I got to see Fregene and be able to be at the beach with them. It is a fun little area and I love their beach house. It is nice being out of the city in that sense and having a more chill atmosphere. I am extremely sad to be leaving this family though. I only have 2 more days before I go to Cagliari and it kind of breaks my heart. But I am sure I will love it there and love my new family too.
