What were you grateful for this week?
I’m grateful that I was able to go to Paris.

What was the most difficult or challenging part of this week?
Figuring out how to get to and from Paris and trying to figure out all the transportation and the trains!

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
I watched the kids on Thursday night while [my host mom] went out.

Tell us about your week!
So for this blog entry I’m just going to focus on my amazing trip that I took to Paris!
On Friday afternoon, I got on my flight and headed for Paris, I arrived at the airport around 9pm, and was picked up by the family I was going to be staying with for the two days I was there, they are friends of my moms who just happen to live in Paris. So on Friday night I just got settled and went to bed so that I could get up early on Saturday morning and explore Paris.

On Saturday morning I woke up at 7:00 am and started getting ready! I was so anxious and excited to get to the city. I took an Uber into Paris because the family I was staying with lives about 30 minutes outside of the city.

While I was in the car, and we got closer and closer to Paris and I saw just how beautiful it was I couldn’t help but cry! I was in the back of a random uber just balling my eyes out! Haha!! I’ve always wanted to go to Paris, I’ve always seen it in movies and just thought “wow I want to go there” but I never ever thought even in my wildest dreams that I actually would be able to spend a weekend in Paris. I was dropped off right behind the Eiffle Tower, and right when I got there I got in line to go to the top of the tower because I wanted to get that done with first since I knew it would take a while. The whole process of standing in line and going to the top took about 3 hours. I went all the way to the very very top; the summit view. It was amazing. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a city that is so beautiful. Just seeing all of Paris from the top of the Eiffel Tower was like a dream!

After I got down from the Eiffel Tower I just started walking around with no set destination in mind, I had to find a little cafe and charge my phone because it was going to die and I was NOT going to let that happen when I was living my dream! I couldn’t be in Paris with a dead phone and not be able to take pictures! I would’ve been devastated!

After I charged my phone I went to the Arch de Triomphe, and of course that was amazing as well! It’s so amazing to be walking down the street and just see this huge Arch at the end of it!

I ended up meeting up with a guy over there who has lived in Paris for a while, the family I was staying with set it up so that he could meet me and show me around Paris. So he and I met up at the Arch. The guy who met me is very handsome and I’m not going to lie, it seemed very romantic, just us two exploring Paris together! We had a great time, we went to dinner, and to Notre Dame, the Louvre, and many other places. At the end of the night, around 1:00 we ended back at the Eiffle Tower so that I could see it all lit up with the lights. It was gorgeous. Then we caught a train back to where he parked his car and he took me home. It was a perfect day!

On Sunday I spent the day with the family who hosted me, they made me lunch and then later that afternoon took me to the airport and I slept in a motel my last night because the family wasn’t going to be able to take me to the airport in the morning.
Even though I only spent 1 full day exploring Paris; it was the most amazing day of my life. I’m making it a goal of mine to come back in the next 10 years so that I can spend a week or two there and actually explore everything.

Paris is magical. It’s the “city of love” and when you’re walking down those Paris streets you realize exactly why it’s called that.
