Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.
This week I stayed with the kids again on Friday night so that my host parents could go out.
Tell us about your week! What was exciting, what you learned, what you enjoyed doing?
This week was amazing. I was with the kids Monday through Friday of course and then on Saturday I went out and explored more of Trastevere. I haven’t gone outside the area that I lived because I was to scared my first week and I didn’t want to get lost.
But on Saturday I walked to the Trevi fountain and met up with a few other girls who are also Au Pairs. From my house to the fountain it is a 32 minute walk; but because of how beautiful this place is, it felt like I was only walking for 5 minutes.
Trastevere is so full of life and art and beauty. I’m so grateful for the area that I’m able to live in. I met up with the girls atTrevi fountain and then we walked around the city even more, we went out to eat and went to Piazza di Santa Maria, which was one of my favorite places I’ve sewn in Trastevere so far. It was full of people who are artists, people who sit and play guitar outside, and then full of travelers. It was really beautiful. I was able to walk around all day and all night.
Sunday was also very fun, I went to a basketball game with my host mother and the two kids. It was really fun to watch a basketball game in a different country. I really enjoyed it and it was a good time to bond more with my host family. This week was amazing and I’m so grateful for every opportunity that I had.
