What were you grateful for this week?

My amazing host mom.

What was the most challenging part of this week?Honestly nothing, it’s been amazing. Maybe the bad weather? We couldn’t go outside for walks.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.

I bought [my host family’s daughter] some candy in her favorite flavors.

Tell us about your week!

So my first full week with my new family went by with a breeze. We play English games all afternoon and go for walks. Then [my host mom] comes at exactly 7pm to relieve me. We have dinner together. I had the best pizza of my entire life. [My host dad] told me it’s the top ten best pizza in Italy. We keep eating raw hamburger meat and I’m still trying to get used to it.

On Saturday I went to every single bakery in la morra and tried something. So sweet and so good! There was a rainstorm and we strayed snuggled on the couch, me and [my host mom] watching House and Friends while [my host family’s daughter] took a nap. I love this family!

[My host mom] and I went to a college of food and wine and walked around a different town one day and she is just so awesome. On Sunday we took a family trip to Turin and took a train ride through the countryside. Then we went to the palace grounds and museum. It was so beautiful! Then they knew I loved crepes so we went to the best place in Torino to get crepes. They were amazing!!!

Then today we went to a mass blessing for [my host family’s daughter] because she’s going back to school. And experiencing a different religion is cool. Then [my host mom] bought a gift for my parents for me to take home. I leave in a week! I’m ready to leave but I want to take my host family with me to America!
