J’s Week in Italy

What were you grateful for this week?I’m grateful for eating so much good food here with a cool family.

What was the most challenging part of this week?Thinking that my trip here is almost done.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. This week we were still at the beach, we went on a night ship cruise and we were able to look at the stars. My host mom translated for me Greek mythology.

Tell us about your week! I came back from Venice on Sunday then we had our usual week, which I was getting used to. We wake up have a good breakfast then go to the beach. At the beach we did everything from collecting seashells to playing frisbee to making a race car track and just sitting there sun bathing. In the afternoons we have a yummy lunch (where I always get panna cotta for dessert). Then in the afternoons I would go running with the dad and the little boy. On our run we would pick wild berries to take back to my host mom and the two girls (and nonna too). We saw Gabicce Mountain and then ran back down. In the afternoon we would go walking in the nearby city.

This Saturday I was able to go to mass. It was so interesting that I was able to follow along with what the priest was saying and that some of the songs we sing at mass in Spanish in Utah is very similar to the music that they sang here. We drove back on Sunday and these last few days have been going well.

It’s been sad to think about going back and working again but I’m making lots of good memories here. I’ve been reading a lot here on my down time and it’s been great to be in a new place and be reading all these new things.
