What were you grateful for this week?Paris!

What was the most challenging part of this week?Time management. Trying to see an entire city in a day is hard!

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week.I’ve been spending extra time with my host child and I can tell he appreciates it! He is a little older so trying to connect with him can be difficult but I usually ask him if I can hang out with him and his friends that live on the street. I can tell he loves my company & will always ask if I would like to play board games or go to the beach with his friends!

Tell us about your week! This week I spent a little more time with my host child which was a lot more fun than I expected! He’s not a big fan of doing english workbooks but prefers to have our conversations in english to help him practice the language. Every morning we went to the beach and hung out with his friends. We swam and sometimes we played soccer. After that we would have lunch and play some board games with his friends. They don’t speak a lot of english but they do a great job of keeping me included!

This past weekend was A LOT of fun! J2, A5 and I flew to Paris for the weekend for a music festival, Lollapalooza Paris. We saw a much of our favorite artists such as The 1975, The Strokes, TwentyOnePilots and Jaden Smith. It was such a good time and meeting A5 for the first time was great because we all bonded over our love for music festivals. Before the festival on Sunday, J and I woke up early to sightsee a little bit in Paris. We went to the Eiffel Tower and ate breakfast there. Then after that we headed to the Louvre! This museum is HUGE and I really wish I had more time in it! I’ve been told a lot that you need to book a whole day away just for the museum itself. I was able to see the Mona Lisa which was awesome but since J and I were on a time crunch we could only spend 2 hours in the museum before we had to head back to the festival.

Although my time in Paris was short I wouldn’t trade it for anything! I would definitely love to come back and really take in all the sights the city has to offer.
