What were you grateful for this week?My host family. What was the most challenging part of this week?Having to say goodbye to everyone.

Tell us about a “wow” moment you had this week. I had a polaroid photo shoot with my host brother and gave them my host family.

Tell us about your week! This week was my final week in Italy. It was very difficult having to say goodbye to my host family as I had gotten very close and comfortable around them. To start off the week they took me to a family party where I was welcomed with hugs and amazing food. While I was nervous to be around so many people who spoke Italian, everyone made me feel so comfortable as they made such an effort to talk to me and make me feel welcomed. The owner of the house sat me down and served me a classic Italian meal. I was so excited and so happy to have had the opportunity to be there.

On my last day there my host parents took me out to have one final meal together on the beach. The view was amazing and it was so surreal knowing it was my last meal with the family.

My flight home consisted of a 20 hour layover in Copenhagen. While I was nervous to have such a long layover I am so glad I had that opportunity. I spent the evening in Copenhagen and it was the most beautiful place I have ever visited. I was able to make friends throughout the city which made exploring much more fun!

Overall I am incredibly lucky and greatful to have had such an amazing opportunity to explore the world, become part of an amazing family, and to have been able to emerge myself into a beautiful foreign culture. Thanks to Rome Abroad I met such amazing people who have helped me grow as a person and simply just become a happier individual. Spending money on travel is a great and beautiful investment that helps shape you. After two months abroad I can truly say I have become someone I am proud of. I am incredibly sad my time abroad had to end but I am greatful I was able to have the opportunity in the first place.
